Asian Recipes at Yale (ARaY) has only existed for three years, but the wealth of knowledge, experience, and love for food that we possess feels like we've been here forever. We believe the passion for food at Yale surpasses the amount of space dedicated to it. It is evident from our ever-growing cohort, and increasing applicant pool, that the passion for food is deeply rooted within the Yale community. At every event, we strive to create an environment to engage with the Yale community through our cooking. We have many events planned this year, including but not exclusive to "Brunch with a Twist", an Afro-Asian fusion pop up, and Hmong food at the Yale Farm. We look forward to every event as they are each a labor of love, and we can't wait to share it with the Yale community.
This year's SOAR campaign is centered on further bolstering our arsenal of equipment in order for these future events to run as smoothly as possible. Specifics include:
- Stand mixer - it would be incredibly useful for all of our baking needs.
- Dining ware set - having a set of nice dining ware enables the club to showcase our food in a more professional setting. The pictures would come out much nicer.
- Aprons - we would love matching aprons to create a sense of community and professionalism within our cooks. Aprons are also especially helpful when we are serving fried foods.
Our love for food overflows like a boiling pot of chicken stock. We hope you will join us in our way of engaging with the Yale community through sharing pan-Asian flavors.
